The ELD Critical Concepts are an instructional resource for grades 6-12 ELD and ALD classes.  The Critical Concepts are organized by language proficiency level and are used to drive standards based teaching and learning.

The English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) is the required state test for English language proficiency (ELP) that must be given to students whose primary language is a language other than English.

Reclassification is the process whereby a student is reclassified from English learner status to fluent English proficient (RFEP) status.

The CA State Seal of Biliteracy, marked by a gold seal affixed on the diploma and noted on the transcript, recognizes high school graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in one or more languages in addition to English.
